MOPPETS Corner:

We know it can be a challenge to find volunteers to help with caring for our little blessings at MOPPETS. In order to help you recruit, here is a MOPPETS worker's testimony for you to share with anyone you think to ask for help...

"I remember one little boy who's mom was going through some health issues. He decided that he wanted to sit in the corner away from everyone. I went over to him and made sure he was okay and told him he could join the group whenever he was ready. Before we had refreshments, we prayed for his mom. After a while, he joined us for craft time. I told him we had prayed for his mom and he replied, "I know, I heard you." I learned a lot..

I choose to tell you that I am in my seventies because perhaps there are those who feel they cannot be of use in this kind of setting during their latter years. Guess again!!!"
~ June B.

Fund Raising Idea:

Meeting the monthly or annual MOPS budget can be a struggle for some. We are faced with expenses like charter renewals, MOPS membership scholarships, craft expenses, etc. A great way to tackle this issue, and at the same time use the opportunity to get your group some publicity, is to hold a fund raiser!

SUGGESTION:
YARD SALE Fundraiser ~
Here's a way to raise funds for your MOPS group AND get the clutter out of your house: a yard sale at your group's chartering church! This is an opportunity to get all of your moms to participate...to donate items they no longer want/need. Then, what doesn't get sold, you can schedule for pick up by an organization like GoodWill.

Creative Activity Suggestion:

Craft-time at MOPS is a unique opportunity to foster an often dormant creative talent in the lives of many women. Through crafting at MOPS, women can exercise their creativity muscle in order to grow it stronger. The best part is that through this process, we can learn to know God as Creator...the characteristic of Him that delights in every detail He fashions into His created things - including us.

YOUR Ideas & Comments...
Hey Leaders! Your contributions (via email) of ideas & suggestions of things you've tried and would be willing to share as a MOPS Leader are appreciated! Also, please send me any Prayer Requests or Praise Reports. These help keep us connected and working together to serve moms in our communities.

Meet Your COACH:

It was the 3rd Tuesday of February 2002 when I walked into my first MOPS meeting at Mountainside Chapel. My daughter was 3 months old, I didn't know a single woman who would be there, but I just needed to know that I wasn't the only one... The only one who loved motherhood, but was struggling through the seemingly all-encompassing role of being a mom. 10 years and 2 more children later, I found fellowship, personal and therefore spiritual growth, as well as an opportunity to once again use my gifts & abilities to make sure others would also know: we're never alone.

That is the heart of MOPS ministry - to come alongside women in their motherhood roles, and support them through the ups and downs of life. One mom represents one family, one family represents a neighborhood, a neighborhood a state, and so on...the potential for impacting lives with the love of Christ is international! Thank you for all YOU do in fulfilling this wonderful call.

Better moms make a better world,
Nydia

He gently leads those that have young." ~ Isaiah 40:11

2016 - 2017 MOPS Theme:

We Are the Starry Eyed...

Starry Eyed means looking for the light even when darkness is enveloping. It is an opportunity to hope recklessly and to witness God's presence guiding things seen and unseen, comfortable and uncomfortable.

When we reflect back over our lives, this year is going to stand out. It will be the year that we decided to live fully by both sunlight and moonlight. because audacity is rising in the deepest and wildest parts of our souls. And the best part is, we will experience it all together.

Starry Eyed means...

WONDER: "Thus says the Lord who made the earth, the Lord who formed it to establish it...Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." ~ Jeremiah 33:2-3

HOPE: "Even the darkness is not dark to You, and the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alilke to you." ~ Psalm 139:12

KINDNESS: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth..." ~ Genesis 1:1-5

It is opening our eyes to wonder and choosing hope over fear.

Starry Eyed is significant acts of kindness that send ripples of light into the world.

It is a choice to live fully and wholly and to breathe our way back to life.

If you feel anxious and don't know why...

If you are busy and distracted from the things you truly care about...

If you are restless for an unexpected encounter with God...

If you long to feel alive, to regain a sense of wonder, to hope a little freer and to be a powerful force of kindness in the world, then we'd love for you to join us in becoming Starry Eyed.

This year we will run wildly toward wonder, hope and kindness because We Are the Starry Eyed and we choose to see the light.
